SPASH Social Norms Project

The SPASH Social Norms Project is a positive approach to preventing alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use in students. Students overestimate the percentage of their peers who use alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. When students overestimate, they justify peer use and are more likely to use themselves. The 2007 Social Norms results for SPASH show a
consistent and positive impact of the social norms campaign.
